Getting Started in a 1-to-1 Classroom Video Series

Description

We have created a four-part "Getting Started with 1-to-1" video series featuring former Governor Angus King and two Maine educators, Lisa Hogan of MSAD 75 in Topsham, Maine and Sarah Sutter of Wiscasset High School, Wiscasset, Maine. We have also created a set of suggestions for using these videos as part of a high school's 1-to-1 professional development efforts. The videos are each about 10 minutes long and were created specifically for high school educators who don’t have much experience with 1-to-1, but others may find them very useful as well. They were created with support from the MLTI program at the Maine Department of Education. Captioned versions and transcripts are available in the MLTI area on the iTunes U website.

Attached are the suggestions for "group" professional development use, as well as summaries and transcripts of the videos. Of course, educators may also view them on their own at any time.

Please take a look at the videos and engage with us in a conversation about teaching in a digital classroom. Please also see the companion video series elsewhere in this section of the MICDL website, "Getting Started in a 1-to-1 School."
