6th Annual MLTI Student Technology Conference, May 29, 2009, UMaine - Orono, Maine
On Friday May 29, 2009 over 800 participants and presenters will gather at UMaine for the 6th Annual MLTI Student Technology Conference. The conference is presented by the Maine Learning Technology Initiative in partnership with with The Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at UMaine and ACTEM (the Association of Computer Technology Educators of Maine), with sponsorship support from Apple.
Over eighty percent of the participants will be middle and high school students, and the majority of the presenting teams have student members as well. This conference is an ongoing example of the MLTI's commitment to providing high quality, content focused professional development to all levels of the school community, including students.
This year's 800 seats, up from 600 last year, filled within 5 days of registration opening. This is a highly replicable model of student engaged, student led, student empowering professional development for kids involved in 1:1 environments like the MLTI.
