This study examined online computer game development as a pedagogical activity to motivate and engage students in curriculum related literacy activities. Pre and Post data of experimental and control groups of 4th grade public school students in Canada revealed positive outcomes in reading and writing skills and new digital literacy skills. Experimental students had a significant difference on logical sentence construction. Field notes and teacher interview data revealed that game development helped students in many areas of knowledge managing and construction and developing new digital literacy skills.
